MARLENE DIETRICH DOLL Madame Alexander 'ALEX' makeover & gown by LIZ ROBERTS (Theatrical Costumer NZ)

Add captionMarlene Dietrich doll by Madame Alexander  makeover, gown & coat by Liz Roberts.
Posted by PicasaCostumier Liz Roberts recreated this gown for my Marlene Dietrich doll from a gown designed by JEAN LOUIS. THe gown appeared to be transparent, but actually had a structured undergarment to give Marlene the allure of youth and also appearing to be see through.  The 16" doll
by Madame Alexander's 'Alex' line originally came in a drab 'Shanghai Express' outfit, but I wanted my Marlene doll to represent Marlene's career as a celebrated concert performer. After decades as an actress, Miss Dietrich entertained the Allied troops during WW11 after which she realized she could pack Las Vegas showrooms and concert halls as a singer. She toured the world from the 1950's to mid 1970's, always glamourous and beautiful well into her 70's.
