PHYLLIS DILLER PHOTO TRIBUTE : THE QUEEN OF COMEDY

PHYLLIS DILLER art in gouache on board by Robert Rechter
Phyllis did not start her career as a comic until she was 37 & had raised 5 children.

Phyllis was actually a pretty woman underneath the wigs and makeup
Phyllis believed in the power of positive thought, and being a good person.

Phyllis often made jokes about her 'bird legs'.

Phyllis loved to hoard things, she collected bags and postcards, and also many zany outfits for her act.
Phyllis is simply stunning in this shot.

Posted by PicasaPhyllis Diller counted amongst her close comedienne friends Joan Rivers, Lily Tomlin and Joy Behar. Joan said Phyllis was extremely helpful to her as an up an coming comedienne in the 60's. They remained close, and Joan and her daughter Melissa went to Phyllis' home for brunch only a month before she passed away. She was smiling until the end, and had all her family around her, passing away in her sleep.

BRIGITTE BARDOT IN VINTAGE GLAMOUR POSTCARDS : POST TWO BLACK & WHITE

Brigitte Bardot was always a great beauty, even in her youth with darker hair.

Brigitte was the inspiration for the first ponytail Barbie dolls.

Always an animal rights advocate, she has done much to improve how animals are treated.

Every man's fantasy came true with Brigitte's voluptuous look.

The famous BB pout.
Not just a beauty, but a great actress.
Brigitte also had a recording career as a singer.

Posted by PicasaSome great vintage postcards of Brigitte Bardot. A truly great beauty and amazing actress. She also had great success as a singer making many TV specials and singles. The DVD 'BARDOT: DIVINE BB' features many of those.

BRIGITTE BARDOT IN VINTAGE GLAMOUR POSTCARDS : POST ONE COLOR POSTCARDS

A fabulous shot, with her trademark 'just got out of bed' look.

Busty pouting Bardot drove men mad

Once women had to look prim and proper, Bardot shattered that boundary

The most beautiful actors of their time

Posted by PicasaBrigitte Bardot brought with her a new casualness and freedom for women, that never dared exist before. Today she looks contemporary and modern, a natural beauty. But then she was shocking, breaking down many conservative ideas about how women should behave.
