Whether or not Kent was the influence for Trent we don't know.....

The Gene Marshall doll was very popular for more than a decade 

We knew Trent and Gene would end up together, seen here as a Vogue Pattern.

I have collected Gene dolls ever since they came out, and each year bought one or two that I admired. I also have a Trent, a Madra and a Violet. But to me the original Gene's were the best. They had those smokey film noir eyes, and the most beautiful clothes you can imagine. Real quality all the way. The Gene doll looked like an actress that stepped out of a dream, and for many years her popularity could not be equaled. Sadly she is now no longer in production, and we have only great memories and our beautiful Gene dolls to remind us of past glories. A time when dolls were once again magical and nostalgic, and the stuff dreams are made of.
