KENT TAYLOR : A REAL DOLL

American actor KENT TAYLOR
The TRENT OSBORN doll, released in 2001 by Ashton Drake as GENE MARSHALL'S boyfriend.
Kent sans mustache
The similarity between KENT and TRENT is striking
Both were sophisticated and debonair
But the real doll could smile
and sign photos
and make movies and appear on postcards

Kent loved his horse
If only they'd released a horse for Trent

Whether or not Kent was the influence for Trent we don't know.....
So judge for yourselves, as the Trent doll goes up and up in value
Mel Odom's  Gene Marshall doll certainly looked like actress Gene Tierney
The beautiful Gene Tierney in the flesh
The Gene Marshall doll was very popular for more than a decade
We knew Trent and Gene would end up together, seen here as a Vogue Pattern.
Posted by PicasaI have collected Gene dolls ever since they came out, and each year bought one or two that I admired. I also have a Trent, a Madra and a Violet. But to me the original Gene's were the best. They had those smokey film noir eyes, and the most beautiful clothes you can imagine. Real quality all the way. The Gene doll looked like an actress that stepped out of a dream, and for many years her popularity could not be equaled. Sadly she is now no longer in production, and we have only great memories and our beautiful Gene dolls to remind us of past glories. A time when dolls were once again magical and nostalgic, and the stuff dreams are made of.
