VALLEY OF THE DOLLS : A CAMP TRIP OF A MOVIE IF EVER THERE WAS ONE

Beautiful Sharon Tate from an Italian fotobusta in my collection
"You're making me nervous" Barbara Parkins and Susan Hayward from Italian fotobusta set
Anne and Neely discuss booze and dolls,  from an Italian fotobusta
Neely gets sloshed and very loud, from an Italian fotobusta
Cat fight, from an Italian fotobusta
Lovers, from an Italian fotobusta
A rarely seen variation of the bedroom shots, from the Laser Disc cover.
A story about 3 little girls
The overwhelmingly beautiful Sharon Tate, such a sweet girl and a sad loss.
I am happy to say I have this large rare poster in my collection
The film was promoted in different countries in different ways, the Belgian poster is over the top sex and lust.
The Japanese poster is all soft and fluffy snowflakes,  so beautiful.
The Martha Washington Hotel for Single Girls, with no men in the rooms please.....
My favorite variation of the bedroom shots, Sharon is particularly fetching
Original ad from Australian Movie News
Patty Duke overacted a little as Neely, but she is simply wonderful. Neely was based on the young Judy Garland.
Susan Hayward plays Helen Lawson ( based on Broadway star Ethel Merman) after Judy Garland left the film.
Beautiful Barbara Parkins played Anne (based on the author) Barbara was in Peyton Place the series.
Anne starts as a secretary, gets discovered, and becomes a high fashion model... gets addicted to dolls.
The author Jackie Susann, invented the modern day bestselling blockbuster novel as we know it. Truman Capote rudely described her as a "truck driver in drag". All her bestsellers are great reading, and the movies made from those books, a lot of fun.
Posted by PicasaFor me Valley of the Dolls is the ultimate camp movie experience. Its the movie thats so bad, its wonderful, to the extent its now a cult classic. Glamorous, bitchy, high fashion, drugs and booze, sex romps, the lives of these three girls as they claw their way to the top is simply an exhilarating  experience to watch.

Thank you so much for your comment, your blog is, and has been for some time, truly inspirational. We seem to love the same stars, and have a very similar sense of humour. I am truly honoured to be asked to go on your selected blogs list. It would be nice to get a little more traffic over here, seeing as I am putting more of my own collection of images on my blogs now.
The community of friends on Youtube has completely disbanded after even more changes over there, totally decimating a lot of great channels and friends I had there. So now my blogs will take priority.
Most of the Valley of the Doll images here are from my full set of Italian fotobustas (Italian posters) from the original release of the film. Garish at times yes, but lovely shots. Best to you, Robert.
