WICKED QUEEN: MARLENE DIETRICH in THE DEVIL IS A WOMAN (1935) My original color artwork is copyrighted by me, the artist.

My favorite film is THE DEVIL IS A WOMAN starring MARLENE DIETRICH. For my original artwork of THE WICKED QUEEN from Disney's SNOW WHITE. I used Marlene Dietrich's face with her famous arched eyebrows as reference. A famous line from the film is "You have ice where other's have a heart'. The Devil is a Woman, was Dietrich's favorite film. My artwork shown here is a portion of a larger painting of Miss Dietrich looking in the mirror and seeing the Wicked Queen stare back at her. It is gouache hand painted on illustration board.

Sadly we have lost legendary actress Jane Russell. Miss Russell was discovered by Howard Hughs and starred in many musicals and films in the 50's and 60's. Her most famous movie was Gentlemen Prefer Blondes with Marilyn Monroe. Other films include The Legend of Mamie Stover, Gentlemen Marry Brunettes, The Paleface, The Outlaw, The French Line, Macao.
